At last, a visit to the Tavern
I stopped into the Sharon Valley Tavern this afternoon - what took me so long? I got to know Mike and his wife Jennifer, had a cold Bud, and listened to a bit of chat about baseball, salary caps, the Red Sox vs. Yankees. (Around here, whether you're a Yankees fan or a Red Sox fan is a Big Deal - I've never quite figured out which side I should be on. I always just say that I've stayed loyal to my hometown Detroit Tigers and avoid the whole thing! Apparently when I was born, in the final days of the pennant race, the doctor was so busy watching a game that he kind of neglected my mom during labor!) Anyway, thank, Jesse - you look pensive in this shot but I appreciated the warm welcome!

Hi Jenny, nice post with a bit of the daily life and people in Sharon...I also see that there's a painting with "Sharon, CT" in the top center ;-)
What is it with small town drinking holes and the sports affiliations? I know this is not going to meana thing to you, Jenny and only any of your Luso-American visitors will start quivering, but I can't go in any place in VFX without hearing a super-boring anodyne argument about Benfica & Sporting (it's soccer!!). I've recently started walking out, because I DO know which side I'm on! In my local café, they all now call me "Spurs", after the nickname of my beloved club in London. I go in, and it's like when Norm used to slouch into "Cheers". Love it! And I think you really ought to have gone in the Tavern before, no?
