Shadows and shapes

A photographer I respect highly (hi mom!) sent me some of her recent photos - very different than her previous work. She was looking at pavement - cracks, paint, the occasional stray cigarrette butt - but mostly at texture, light and dark, shape. She inspired me, on my walk home from the monthly pancake breakfast, to look in new directions for visual ideas.

It must be getting late! I delved into the pancake breakfast link (feel ready for some pre-bedtime!)and slipped into a time warp, (the turtle-naming?)till I saw they were shots from June!
Great idea though, that is simple community participation, for a necessary cause and what must be a decent breakie in return.
And so to your creative 'walk home'. There is nothing that the camera can't be aimed at and a creative result achieved. This just goes to prove that. Where are the rules that say you can't aim down or up? Excellent pic! I am moving in a different direction and I hope you will also come & participate. Time is running out. XXX
