Mud Season

Before I take you on a tour of Ellsworth, I should warn you, our shoes might get a bit muddy! I've never seen these signs before, but they're helpful and quite accurate!

What an unusual sight. Reminds me of an old song "Mud, mud glorious mud. Nothing quite like it for cooling the blood"...think it was caled the Hippopotamus song.

By virtue of the fact that Ruth got here first, I won't say the first thing that came into my mind. She's already done it! Have you ever heard of F & S?
And thank heavens, there's only mud - no frogs in sight, although it's still there on Sunday's post. Weird!

I'm back after another look, because (a) I'm struck by the notion of a mud season....(b) that there is a sign to announce it, and (c) if there was no sign, it would look from a scene at the Somme, or Flanders (no Ruth, not him, the region in Northern France/Belgium), winter 1917.
