Just for fun, I took the photo below and worked on it in Photoshop - which do you like better? I'll upload a real new photo for today a little later on.
Yes, I agree - stunning now. So, which is more "authentic"? Well, that's obvious, but is it proper? Ah artistic conundrums. A debate that's been going on since photography began. No oil painter ever had to justify themselves this way by presenting their interpretation, but is photography "supposed" to be entirely realistic?
I say no, because it is already distorted by the lens and the technology of the camera, whereas an artist workign straight to canvas is modifying thru their own lens and brain.
This is better, and I would took the bottom brunch out as you said.
I see you adjust level/contrast a little, that gives more depth in colour.
It's fun, but easily overdone like I do sometimes. Play with it extremely, and just so slightly. You will find it is fun and what is best match to your photo.
If you have a CPL filter, I would try to shoot with it on. Take the water transparent and so the opposit to make reflection maximum. That is another fun thing to do.

Jenny - this one is MUCH better. I think it's cleaner and more visually appealing.

Wow that is so clever...and they say the camera never lies. Any chance of making my hips and tum disappear....LOL
Hi J: I'm not a huge photoshop user, but I have to admit this looks REALLY nice!
Added you as a contact on Flickr, BTW. :)
