Jenny - I had exactly the same thought before I read your text. Your picture is about soft, quiet verticals. The elements you identified detract from that. A little clone stamp or healing brush should do the job. I'll be posting a picture on Friday of a similarly quiet scene.

It's a beautiful image Jenny, but I'd be tempted to only clone out the horizontal branches at top right.
