South Egremont

sheffield, originally uploaded by jahansell.

I stuck my camera out the window when I was waiting at the stop from Route 41 to turn onto Route 23 in what I originally wrote was Sheffield, but of course, as several friends reminded me, is South Egremont.

Question to my local readers: what am I missing? I drive the same routes most days, and see the same sights and sites...I invite some new suggestions for where to photograph in and around Sharon! (Feel free to invite me to your place!)

I'm not local, but I love the scenery you photograph so well.

Your scenes are fine as are your close-ups. Not being satisfied is a major flaw among all artists.

Jenny,

You're not missing anything. I think you are wise to expand your photo universe beyond Sharon more often -- the title of the blog notwithstanding.

BTW, that view is from Rt 41 in South Egremont, Mass. I pass by it a lot in the winter on my way to Ski Catamount on the NY/Mass line.

Thanks for being so faithful in posting. I don't comment often but enjoy your pix immensely.

How far afield from Sharon would you go?

We own the little blue house on Cornwall Bridge Rd... down near the Grist Mill. My fiancee and I bought the place back in April and we've been reading your blog ever since. I have family in CT but we live in Arizona. I know it sounds crazy but we just couldn't pass up the opportunity to own our dream home. We'll live there someday, but for now we must stay in AZ. We'd be delighted if you would stop by and take a few photos (you can't really see the main house from the street). Currently, we have seasonal renters, so don't go on the property prior to Sept 4th. And if you stop by after the 4th, stop in and say hi... we'll be there from Sept 5th through the 25th. Tony and Heather.

I'm sure that as the seasons change even photographs of the same place will look different.
