Icy pumpkin

icy pumpkin, originally uploaded by jahansell.

Yesterday we had our second ice-storm of the year. The first one wasn't much of anything - schools were canceled or delayed, everyone changed plans, and then we got almost nothing. (Typical!) But this time it was for real - we realized it as we were driving home through a rain storm that suddenly the road was very slippery! The last 30 miles were taken at a crawl. The next morning everything was covered in a 1/2 inch of ice, including the little pumpkins (grown by Ella in our garden) still sitting on our front porch.

I love this photo so much. Just great! Ice storms are just no fun at all, I'm glad you got home safe.
