Slow cows
There is a dairy farm on Route 22, a couple of miles south of Millerton. Mid-afternoon, the cows cross the road, and everyone stops and waits. Here's the cow parade.
One picture a day of this rural, old New England town.

That's so funny! But it's nice that people are gracious enough to let the cows cross the road.
I guess they know where their milk is coming from!
I can't see the image b'c my school's Internet provider blocks them coming from your blog.
But it sounds like John Perotti's farm next to the Roundtuit. Usually a couple of the farm hands get out and stop the cars with red flags.
It's quite a sight, but you're right. Motorists are understanding and respectful -- even the weekenders who don't typically have much patience for anything that stops traffic.
